WorkKeys Assessments: Your First Big Step
Remember to SCHEDULE Your WorkKeys Assessment at Your Nearest Alaska Job Center or Nine Star!
Before submitting your application for an AMMA apprenticeship, all prospective candidates must complete the required WorkKeys assessments at an Alaska Job Center or Nine Star. These assessments are critical to ensure that applicants have the foundational skills needed for success in the trades. Depending on your chosen program, the minimum score requirements are as follows:
HVAC-R Technician WorkKeys Test Requirements
Sheemetal WorkKeys Test Requirements
Schedule Your Assessments
Contact your local Alaska Job Center or Nine without delay. Visit www.jobs.state.ak.us/offices/index.html for Job Center or https://ninestar.org/contact-details-locations/ for Nine Star to schedule your assessments.
Study & Prepare with Confidence
We recommend practicing with the Career Ready 101 preparatory courseware available at your nearest job center. This practice will help you meet the required skill levels. Alaska Literacy Program is a Resource for Studying for these tests.
Plan Your Testing Session Accordingly
Each WorkKeys assessment is 55 minutes long. To complete all three in one session—including breaks—plan for up to 4 hours. If needed, work with the job center staff to schedule the tests separately.
Complete & Submit Your Score Report
Once you’ve completed the assessments, you will receive a score report. Please include a copy of this report with your application packet, and be sure to save the original for your records.
Taking the WorkKeys assessments now is a crucial step in preparing your application and ensuring you meet the prerequisites for a successful career in the trades. Get started today and build the foundation for your future with AMMA!
